Modified Oxford Agar is a selective and differential medium used in the isolation of Listeria monocytogenes in food samples. Modified Oxford Medium contains moxalactam, which inhibits staphylococci, bacilli, and Proteus species, and colistin sulfate to inhibit gram-negative bacilli.) Selectivity is enhanced by lithium chloride which negatively affects the growth of enterococci. Motility is most pronounced at 20°C.• Product meets AOAC, APHA, BAM, SM-Dairy, SMWW, and USDA reference methods and performance criteria.• Modified Oxford Agar should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • For in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use.• Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
